Neal Adams Prime Matter

Post by Light Storm »

A new hypothesis that has taken over 30 years to develop is the “prime matter” hypothesis by Neal Adams. His work is based on Carl David Anderson’s discovery of the positron. Anderson was the youngest scientist to win a Nobel Prize at the age of 31 and discovered the positron and what is called today as “anti-matter”. This lead to the discovery a photon could transform into an electron and positron in effect, creating mass. Adams has come up with a hypothesis he calls prime matter. The simplest way I can put Neals 'Prime Matter' into my own words would be to tell you that existence as we know it is made up of 99.99+% Prime Matter... the rest is 'Matter' Prime matter can not be seen of felt with any instrument because it's truly neutral is is made up of a positive and negative charge. In the super dense, super heated, super energetic cores on planets, prime matter particles are split into 'matter' particles... positive and negative electrons. They attract other layers of particles and individuality evolve into atoms. The new Atoms then move outward towards the surface where like atoms attract other like atoms forming a silicate crust, salt domes, and water.

Electron-positron pair production is a well understood physical phenomenon (see for example here), but the description made by Adams is pseudoscientific.

The process requires gamma rays which energy must be at least that of the rest mass of the electron and the positron (1.022 MeV). This type of gamma rays are not detected at the surface of Earth.
In anyway, this can difficultly explain the gain in mass because as much matter than antimatter is produced in the process and both would readily annihilate into gamma ray photons.
