Auxotectonics (from the Greek αὐξάνω "to increase", τεκτονικός "pertaining to building") is a field of study within the Earth and planetary sciences concerned with the large scale motions of the lithosphere and asthenosphere of Earth and other planets, due to their inner growth in mass and size.
